As Director of Informatics at Harvard University, Michele dealt with the ever thorny problem of delivering cutting edge data analysis and processing on a shoestring budget. Building on 2 years with the Bioteam consulting company she built a world class team who supported multi-million dollar facilities ranging from dna sequencing and proteomics to helium liquefication facilities.
Prior to that she had a stellar academic career at The Broad Institute, The Sanger Institute, the European Bioinformatics Institute and Oxford University. During these years she was one of the founders of Ensembl - the world leading genomics database and a key player in many genome sequencing efforts. Michele designed a world class visualization suite for molecular sequence and structure analysis called Jalview and serves on the science advisory board to this day.
Not only has Michele spent many years at the forefront of computational research she has now branched out into the different creative world of watercolor painting. She is building a following and selling her paintings at micheleclamp.com.
